"October is a festival season when all of nature is aglow."     OCTOBER EVENTS and ACTIVITIES:       Wed., October 8th - OCTOBERFEST!!    Get your advance tickets early for this annual October celebration party and dance at the Center.      A real wedding, renewal of vows, a wonderful German lunch, prizes, surprises and dancing to the music of Mike Jacobs!          Mon., October 13th - COLUMBUS DAY (Center Closed).        Thurs., October 16th - MARCHING BAND SPECTACULAR!     Don't miss this annual Marching Band Spectacular at Byers Field at 7:30 pm!     Area high school bands strut their half-time shows in a wonderful, music-filled evening!     Seniors admitted FREE with PCSD Senior Citizen Freedom Card!                    Thurs., October 30th - Training Program at the Center (Center Closed)          Fri., October 31st - HALLOWEEN!    Drive with extra caution between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, and watch for the trick-or-treaters.     If you'd like them to stop at your home for Halloween treats, leave your porch light on.          Sun., November 2nd - DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS!      Remember to turn your clocks BACK one hour before going to bed on Saturday night.         Wed., November 19th - FLU SHOTS!          We are now taking reservations for Flu Shots to be given at the Center on Wed., November 19th from 9:00 to 3:00.     Remember, you must have a reservation to get your Flu Shot.          Our Shared Support Group, "Healing Hearts," meets every Monday from 1:00-2:00 here at the Center!       In this wonderful group program, sponsored by the Center and Seasons of Life Hospice, together we can find the answers to sadness, loneliness, depression, grief, dealing with illness and stress.   Join us!  Everyone is welcome!         Check our October Calendar (link above) for dates of Blood Pressure Checks, Hearing,Vision and Cholesterol Screenings, Hospice Programs, Great Presentations and the many fun, interesting and informative programs offered at the Center!         For a complete listing of all monthly programs and activities at the Donna Smallwood Activities Center, click on Calendar/Parties link at the top of this page.   HOT LUNCHES served at the Center Monday thru Friday at 12:00 Noon ($1 donation).
